Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Supplies
Nurtured Nest will supply protective gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all caregivers. All other supplies are the client’s responsibility. Nurtured Nest can recommend or assist with procurement of supplies, upon request, but the cost of all supplies is the client’s responsibility.
Caregiver Onboarding, Orientation and Training
Nurtured Nest values education and invests heavily in our programs at all levels, i.e., Onboarding & Orientation, Monthly Specialty Topics, Mentorship, Community Events. Occasionally, we may send an additional caregiver along with your primary scheduled caregiver for training purposes.
Communication
Our offices are open 24/7 and we are accessible 24/7. All contact must go through Nurtured Nest administrative staff to ensure coordination of care and protection against the myriad risks that we assume as employers. Should you contact your caregiver directly, this could be perceived legally to create an employer-employee relationship between you and the caregiver, which would then make you liable for Workers’ Compensation, FICA taxes, and any other obligations that could be considered those of an employer.
Pre-Employment and Regular Screening
We operate in South Carolina and to meet our state’s hiring requirements, we perform a comprehensive background screen at federal, state, city, county and jurisdiction levels. Criminal records, motor vehicle records and social security records are reviewed as well as “checks” with home care registries, Office of Inspector General and Fraud & Abuse databases. Drug screening is conducted prior to employment, at random or with cause. Personal and professional references are obtained.
Insurance & Taxes
Nurtured Nest is a fully insured and/or bonded Home Care Agency with General Liability, Professional Liability, Non-Owned Auto Liability, including theft coverage, and Workers Compensation. The responsibility we have is to protect all parties involved, clients, caregivers, and our agency.
